Academic Integrity

Resources for Students

Whether you are a new student or this is your first time here we hope these resources can provide you with the needed resources to be successful and to avoid violating WSU’s academic integrity policies. We are always here to answer any questions or to help you navigate through academic integrity requirements at WSU.

What are WSU's academic integrity policies?

WSU's academic policies are designed to ensure that academic honesty is upheld. Students and faculty have a shared responsibility in upholding the academic integrity policies--students must uphold the principles of academic honesty, and faculty must create a culture of integrity in the classroom and report any and all violations of WSU's academic integrity policies.  The entire academic integrity policy is available in the Standards of Conduct for Students.

What’s so important about academic integrity?

A university community has a unique and time-honored structure that values the pursuit of knowledge, original scholarship, and an academic community to thrive in. When an academic integrity violation occurs it is not just against the rules but against the greater philosophy of higher education. By cheating on assignments, a student cheats themselves out of their own education, devalues their college experience & preparation for the future. Take pride in your academic work and what it means to be a Coug!

How do I file an appeal?

Visit our appeal form at this link, and make sure you submit your appeal within 21 calendar days of the faculty member's decision.
